Getting Involved

Can I volunteer at TEDxQUT?

Our volunteering team is drawn from a pool of current volunteers at QUT. Unfortunately, volunteering is not available to the wider community.

Can I attend TEDxQUT?

In order to attend TEDxQUT, you will need to submit an Audience Member Expression of interest. This does not guarantee you acceptance to attend the event day. All applications are reviewed, and audience members are hand-picked by the curating team.

Our audience is just as important as our event speakers; they are the ones who share the ideas worth spreading. TEDxQUT audience members are a curious community who seek to engage with a deeper understanding of the world.

Audience Member Expressions of Interest for TEDxQUT 2021 Humanity have now closed.

Why do I have to apply to attend the event?

While we would love as many people as possible to attend TEDxQUT 2021, TEDx licencing restricts the number of audience members permitted at the event. The application process allows everyone an equal opportunity to be considered.

What happens after I submit my application?

The organising team for TEDxQUT meticulously evaluate each speaker application. If you are successful, you will progress to the interview stage where you will meet the TEDxQUT curating team and have the chance to present your idea in further detail. All applicants will be advised on the outcome of their application.

What happens if my application is unsuccessful?

If your application is not successful, it does not mean that your idea is not worth spreading. TEDxQUT receives a large number of applications for each event. Selecting speakers is a challenging process and we aim to present unique and diverse ideas across all disciplines. We invite applicants who are unsuccessful to apply for future events.
