Lionel is the Head of the Queensland Behavioural Economics group. He received the 2016 Young Economist Prize from the Economic Society of Australia. His research has attracted substantial media attention both in Australia and overseas including coverage by the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and The Australian. He has also been awarded prestigious fellowships such as an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Fellowship and a Queensland government Smart Future Fellowship. He is Associate Editor of two international economic journals, Theory and Decision and Behavioral Public Policy.
